’s town centre. The site was once a monastery and Commandery for the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem. The current house was built about 300 years ago and is one of Eastbourne’s oldest houses. A dwelling has existed on the site for at least a 1000 years. The Peter Pan illustrator, Mabel Lucie Attwell , also lived here, hence the historic blue plaque on the road-side wall. Guests are able to enjoy a delicious breakfast with hand-made bread and marmalade, as well as the luxury of Egyptian cotton linen. Eastbourne is in a great location to explore the Sussex coast, the South Downs National Park and many National Trust houses and gardens.
